The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: KORN is just a couple of weeks into the 2007 Family Values tour and singer Jonathan Davis cannot say enough good things about the band's newest additions, touring guitarist Clint Lowery from DARK NEW DAY and drummer Joey Jordison from SLIPKNOT. Both have been on the road with the group since earlier this summer and Davis is pleased with their work.

"Clint's an amazing guitar player," he said. "I always enjoyed his guitar work in SEVENDUST and I love his other band, DARK NEW DAY, and he's doing a great job for us. And then playing with Joey has just been awesome. He brings something completely different to the band, he's an amazing drummer and it's been fun playing with him. We're gonna really hate it when he has to split and go do SLIPKNOT (laughs). But we're having fun with him right now."

Jordison is scheduled to reconvene with SLIPKNOT later this year, while Lowery and DARK NEW DAY will begin recording their second album in September.

ANTHRAX has abandoned plans to utilize the services of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor on its next album due to scheduling conflicts with Taylor's other projects. ANTHRAX is said to be currently looking for a new singer to join the fold, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by the band or its management.

ANTHRAX split with singer Joey Belladonna in January, less than two years after reuniting with him and other members of the band's "classic" lineup of the '80s and early '90s. Vocalist John Bush had been a member of the band before that, from 1992 to 2005.

Taylor confirmed that he was working with ANTHRAX on material for their next studio album in a June 2007 interview with Germany's Rock Hard magazine. Asked if he would become the group's vocalist, Taylor said, "It's been bandied about. I'm not saying anything right now because all it's been is just talked about...It kind of started as a joke. And then the more we talked about it, the more serious it got. I'm gonna at least help them out. It's kind of a dream come true — ANTHRAX is one of my favorite bands."

Taylor said in June that he and ANTHRAX were "taking baby steps," but that he had written lyrics for eight or nine songs. He also admitted that while he was interested in singing for ANTHRAX, "I'm in two huge bands right now. So it's like I barely get enough time to sleep, let alone do another band."

Taylor is currently on the road with STONE SOUR and is scheduled to regroup with SLIPKNOT later in the year. It is also unlikely that Taylor would be able to record with ANTHRAX since he is signed to Roadrunner Records (ANTHRAX is believed to still have a European record deal with Nuclear Blast).

Stone Sour wants to make you a promise: Their music won't be confused with Nickelback's or Three Days Grace.

In an interview with Weekend, Stone Sour guitarist James Root said via telephone from his home in Atlantic Beach, Fla., "At the end of the day, we have to look at ourselves in the mirror every day, and be comfortable with the decisions we’ve made... 99.9 percent of our ideas are our own."

In Thursday's Weekend, Root talks about where the music industry’s headed, how they keep two Grammy-nominated acts alive and what we’re in store for at Leach Amphitheater Saturday, Aug. 4 when their "Come What(ever) May" tour comes to town.

Here's a sneak peek:

Weekend: Some people may be seeing you live for the first time here. What can they expect from Stone Sour?

Root: Really high energy, really loud, you know, just kind of having fun and playing. And when I say ‘have fun,’ it may or may not be making faces at each other, spitting on each other (laughs), but you’re there to have fun. We get to do what we love every night, and we try to do it as best we can. We’re at a point now where we’ve been touring a little over a year on this album, so we’re ready to throw down on stage. I think it’s a good show. I’ve seen a lot of live bands, and when I watch our DVDs, see the video of us playing, it’s a pretty good show.

Weekend: Are you inspired by any rock acts on the scene today?

Root: Lamb of God is a great band, just great guys, really friendly. Mastodon, they’re a bunch of cool dudes, an amazing band. Those are some of the bands I look up to. And the band we’re bringing over from Australia, Sydonia, they’re a really amazing band, and the lead singer’s got a very unique voice They’re really heavy but incorporate so many different vibes that it’s a little bit hard to categorize them musically. I think, too, that’s something music’s sort of lost.

Launch Radio Networks reports: SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison recently offered up a tentative timeline for the recording of the band's fourth major label album, saying that the group would begin writing in October and get into the studio by January of 2008, with the CD likely to arrive in the spring. Jordison then told Launch that SLIPKNOT will most likely return to the road even before the disc is out. "We'll probably start touring a month or so before the album comes out, kind of the same way we did the Jagermeister Tour before 'Vol. 3' came out," he said. "So we'll do something like that as well and we're looking at right now doing some European festivals next year, but nothing's in stone yet. You know, there's still some things to be worked out, but the main thing is, you know, the fans should know that there will be another SLIPKNOT record."

Jordison told the U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine that SLIPKNOT's follow-up to 2004's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" will be "heavy as f***," adding that it will also be "just as weird and as experimental" as that album.

Jordison is currently the touring drummer for KORN on that band's Family Values tour, which pulls into Detroit on Wednesday (July 25).

Two other members of SLIPKNOT, singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, will launch a U.S. tour with their other group, STONE SOUR, next month.

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has revealed to Kerrang! that the follow-up to their 2004 effort 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)' will be the heaviest of their 12-year career.

"It's going to be heavy as fuck!" smiles Jordison. "It's going to be heavier than 'Vol. 3...' but just as weird and as experimental. We have a whole bunch of song titles, but nothing I wanna say right now."

The sticksman - currently filling in for Korn drummer David Silveria, who has been on hiatus from the Bakersfield nu-metallers since the beginning of the year - will be touring with the band until October.

"I'm having a blast out on the road," says Jordison. "I'll be on the whole Family Values run in the US with Korn over the summer and we've got some Brazilian dates in August and September. The Korn guys are really laid back and the shows have been killer, but in October we'll be starting a new Slipknot chapter."

Jordison will regroup with his Slipknot bandmates to begin writing material for their fifth studio album with a view to recording in January.

"I've talked to the other guys a bunch of times over the last few months about the new album," he explains. "I've told them to demo whatever they can so we've got as much material to chose from as possible. So be warned 2008 is going to be all about Slipknot!"
