Roadrunner Records is proud to announce two premier wins at
2007 Radio and Records Industry Achievement Awards for top label in the
Active Rock and
Rock categories. The label has been nominated several times, but this year marks Roadrunner's first triumph. Up against major label heavyweights such as Atlantic, Universal, Virgin, Warner Brothers and Zomba, Roadrunner was noted for its outstanding achievements in the Rock and Active Rock formats. Roadrunner Vice President of Promotion Mark Abramson was also nominated for an award for Rock and Active Rock Executive of the Year.
Roadrunner artists included in the Rock and Active Rock format include chart toppers
Nickelback, as well as
Stone Sour,
Killswitch Engage and
Black Stone Cherry. Roadrunner has experienced a fruitful year in radio, with Nickleback and Stone Sour leading the pack. Nickleback has blazed the trail with singles from All the Right Reasons continually receiving spins two years after its initial release. Stone Sour has also made notable strides with their single,
"Through Glass," peaking at #1 on the Active Rock chart. Roadrunner also continues to focus on artist development, successfully exposing newer artist such as Black Stone Cherry to Rock and Active Rock formats.
