Jordison also commented, saying, "I am honored, proud and excited to announce that I have joined the ranks as the new touring drummer for Rob Zombie. I've been a fan of Zombie's since the beginning. I've toured with them and have always wanted to play for them. When John 5 called me up to ask if I knew any drummers I could recommend, I said, only half-jokingly, 'Yeah, me!" Jordison is universally recognized as not only one of the best drummers in hard rock, but as one of the most talented skinsmen in music, period. He will be sitting behind the kit for several appearances and tours throughout the year, namely the "Gruesome Twosome" tour, which features Zombie along with his longtime pal, Alice Cooper, which begins April 26 in Canada and runs through May 4 in Wyoming. Following that historic tour, Jordison will tour alongside Zombie as part of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which Zombie is co-headlining with KORN. That tour kicks off July 10 in San Bernardino, California and runs through August 14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. "This show and setlist is mind blowing, and what better way to kick things off than the 'Gruesome Twosome' tour with horror-rock legend Alice Cooper," Jordison said. "I want to thank all the SLIPKNOT fans for their support and the Rob Zombie fans for welcoming me in. The Demonoid Phenomenon is on its way! " Jordison will make his debut with Zombie at the 2010 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held on April 8, 2010, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Zombie will be closing out the evening's awards ceremony with what is sure to be a "must-see" performance. 2009-12-22 10:39 Corey(8) comments temp. disabled
The short film for 'Snuff,' directed by M. Shawn 'Clown' Crahan and P.R. Brown, is filled with complex imagery. The dark film depicts Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor in a way you've never seen him before. Subtleties fill the film. The scenes unfold in apartment number 009. A skull sits next to a snow globe. Sun peaks through the apartment windows at different points, providing the concept of a time shift. It's not clear if any of this particularly matters, but the sum of the parts seem to indicate that it does. A lot. In the end, the short film for 'Snuff' provides a haunting look into the obsessed mind of a melancholy lover, heartbroken over a lost paramour. Perhaps we all live double lives in the end. 2009-12-02 14:10 Corey(8) comments temp. disabled
Regarding the musical direction of STONE SOUR's next CD, drummer Roy Mayorga said, "It's sounding very different from the last record in every way now that there are five writers, including myself. Some songs are heavy, dark, melodic and with a lot of color. A very well-rounded record this is going to be." Taylor told Noisecreep that the band already has "ten tunes fully written and another 15 we're kind of working on here and there. When I'm not on the road I'm still working, I never stop. And it's really good, everything we're doing is really, really good." As for what the follow-up to 2006's "Come What(ever) May" will sound like, Taylor hinted, "I can say the material is darker than 'Come What(ever) May', but a lot more melodic, a lot stronger, a lot more mature, and the lyrics that are coming out of me are really good. I'm really excited." Taylor's main group, SLIPKNOT, just wrapped up more than a year of touring behind its 2008 album, "All Hope Is Gone", as well as a year-long celebration of the 10th anniversary of its major label debut. 2009-11-07 19:37 Corey(8) comments temp. disabled

On the topic of SLAYER's new album, "World Painted Blood", Taylor said, "I was pulled aside on the [Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem [Festival] tour by a certain gentleman named Kerry King, who proceeded to sit me down and played it track for track — even the bonus stuff. And, dude, I was blown away. I love this album, and I love it for three reasons: It's got the ferocity of the older stuff, it's got the growth of the newer stuff, and it's razor-sharp; the production on it is really good, the performances are smokin', it's probably some of Tom's [Araya] best lyrics yet, and... I just couldn't stop listening to it, and it was fantastic top to bottom; I was really stoked. When you grow up a SLAYER fan, you expect certain things from a SLAYER album and this album had it all and I was really stoked about it. . . [The production's] almost got that old-school feel to it — nothing is wet, like the '80s. Everything is just reefed in the mix and raw. It's a great album. . . It's not just a collection of songs put under the heading of an album. You can listen to the songs and they're good, but then you listen to the album as a whole, and it's amazing. And I think it's just a lost art in this day and age, and this is like a true, true album, and I'm really stoked that it's SLAYER doing it." 2009-11-07 19:26 Corey(8) comments temp. disabled
